We finished our projects! Just in case you missed our last post, the students have been working in small groups to build a container with the following criteria:
~ the container cannot exceed 12×12 inches in size
~ it must have a lid that can open and close
~ the container must safely hold $1.00 worth of coins
Our class read “Alexander Who Used to Be Rich Last Sunday” and the challenge was to build a container to help Alexander save his money.
The students worked collaboratively and did and did a great job following the criteria! Our evaluations went well, and the students all learned a lot! They were very proud of their final products! We are excited to use Children’s Engineering again in our class very soon.
The idea for this project was found at the following website: http://www.childrensengineering.com/DB-AlexanderRich.pdf
